109 MW: The Nordex Group Receives First Order in Latvia
The Nordex Group has secured its first order in Latvia. Sia Laflora Energy, a subsidiary of the peat company Laflora, ordered 16 N175/6.X turbines. The project includes a 35-year premium service contract.
The wind farm, located southwest of Riga, will have a capacity of 108.8 MW. The turbines will be installed on hybrid towers with hub heights of 179 meters. These turbines represent the largest in the Baltics in terms of rotor diameter.
The Laflora wind farm is developed on former peat extraction land and will be part of a larger wind park. Latvenergo Group, owning a 100% stake in the project, aims to begin generation by summer 2026. The project will contribute to Latvenergo's green portfolio targets.
