Abbas Hussain Joins Moderna's Board of Directors

Moderna, Inc. (NASDAQ:MRNA) has announced the addition of Abbas Hussain to its Board of Directors, effective October 2, 2024. Hussain, who most recently served as CEO of Vifor Pharma, brings over 35 years of experience in healthcare leadership and global vaccine commercialization.

Noubar Afeyan, Co-Founder and Chairman of Moderna, expressed enthusiasm about Hussain's appointment. He highlighted Hussain's extensive experience in mature and emerging markets as invaluable for Moderna's ongoing global commercialization and innovation efforts.

Hussain has held numerous leadership roles, including Global President of Pharmaceuticals and Vaccines at GSK, and has served on various boards such as Asceneuron SA, Mallinckrodt Pharmaceuticals, and Alfasigma SpA. Moderna's CEO, Stéphane Bancel, emphasized the strategic insights and operational expertise Hussain will bring to the company.
