Africa Minerals Strategy Group Unveils Responsible Sourcing Initiative

Africa Minerals Strategy Group (AMSG) has announced the launch of the Africa Responsible Mineral Sourcing Initiative. Scheduled for 18th November 2024, this initiative will debut at the Africa Mining Workshop, part of the Dubai Precious Metals Conference. The focus is to establish standards and capacity in Africa's mineral sourcing ecosystem, promoting sustainability and responsible sourcing practices.

Partnering with the Oheneba Poku Foundation, the initiative aims to enhance compliance with responsible sourcing guidelines and support millions of artisanal and small-scale miners. By fostering inclusion and economic development, the initiative seeks to modernize the precious metals supply chain across Africa.

The Dubai conference will host a range of stakeholders including mining companies, financial institutions, and government authorities. Through collaboration, AMSG aims to address transparency, traceability, and sustainability issues in the sector, aligning with global regulatory standards.
