ALSTOM SA: €430 million contract for 10 Aventra trains on the Elizabeth line
Alstom has signed a €430 million contract to supply 10 nine-car Aventra trains and associated maintenance until 2046 for the Elizabeth line in London. The trains will be assembled in Derby, United Kingdom.
Since its opening in 2022, the Elizabeth line has experienced high traffic which requires increasing the current fleet of 70 Aventra Class 345 trains. Alstom is thus continuing its commitment to sustainable and intelligent mobility.
Nick Crossfield, Alstom's Managing Director for the UK and Ireland, highlighted the importance of this contract for the Derby site and the UK supply chain.
Funded to the tune of £220.5 million by the UK Department for Transport, this contract strengthens Alstom's position in the market.
