Altech Advanced Materials AG Activates First CERENERGY Battery Prototype

Heidelberg, October 01, 2024 - Altech Advanced Materials AG has initiated the operation of its first CERENERGY battery prototype, "BatteryPack ABS60," in Dresden. The prototype is located in the Fraunhofer IKTS test laboratory and integrated into a custom battery test station. This enables continuous charging and discharging cycles to assess the battery's efficiency, stability, and performance under real-world conditions.

The prototype has shown exceptional efficiency and robust performance in stress tests. These tests demonstrated high durability, thermal stability, and reliability. The battery cells operated safely within temperature limits, highlighting the effectiveness of the thermal management system. Initial results confirm the battery's design integrity and potential marketability.

Uwe Ahrens, CEO of Altech, expressed confidence in the technology, noting the use of sodium chloride and the battery's long service life. The prototype is expected to attract further industrial interest with its promising results.

Altech has secured a letter of intent for an annual 30 MWh offtake with the Schwarze Pumpe industrial park, signaling strong market interest.
