Andy Halford Appointed as Aareal Bank’s New Chief Financial Officer

Wiesbaden, 30 July 2024 – Andy Halford has been named Aareal Bank’s new Chief Financial Officer (CFO), effective 1 October 2024, pending customary regulatory approvals. Halford joins from Standard Chartered, where he held the role of Group Chief Financial Officer and Group Executive Director for nearly a decade, contributing to the bank's strategic revitalization and growth.

Aareal Bank’s incoming CEO, Dr. Christian Ricken, expressed enthusiasm about Halford’s appointment: “Andy brings decades of financial expertise and a strong track record in managing finance and treasury operations. His experience will be invaluable as Aareal Bank continues its growth trajectory.”

Halford’s previous tenure includes significant roles at Vodafone Group Plc as CFO and at Verizon Wireless as CFO, where he was involved in major acquisitions. His strategic contributions at Vodafone and Verizon significantly enhanced shareholder value and company performance.

Marc Hess, the outgoing CFO, will remain with Aareal Bank until November to ensure a smooth transition.
