Camino Minerals Embarks on Drill Pad Construction for Copper Discovery in Peru

Camino Minerals Corporation has announced the initiation of road construction and drill pad preparation at its Maria Cecilia copper porphyry project in Peru. The work began in late March, with drilling scheduled to start by the end of April 2024. The project will see about 6 kilometers of new roads connecting to existing networks, facilitating access to this promising site located in the Andes' Cordillera Negra mountain range. Camino aims to tap into the unexplored potential of Maria Cecilia, amidst a history of significant investment and exploration in adjacent areas.

Jay Chmelauskas, Camino's CEO, highlights the strategic approach to uncover a new copper source within the central porphyry target at Maria Cecilia, an area that remains undrilled despite extensive exploration activities nearby. The upcoming drilling program intends to investigate a significant magnetic anomaly believed to be indicative of a large mineralized porphyry system. Previous explorations hint at the presence of molybdenum, which may suggest closeness to copper deposits.

The drill operations at Maria Cecilia will not only seek to define copper mineralization but also estimate its zonation within the porphyry stock for further exploration.
