Edison Investment Research Limited has issued a detailed report on the Gresham House Energy Storage Fund (GRID), which invests in utility-scale battery energy storage systems (BESS) in Great Britain. The sector faced challenges at the start of the year due to a decline in revenue conditions. However, GRID's efforts to stabilize revenues and increase capacity are showing positive results.
Manager Ben Guest anticipates a significant improvement in revenue for 2025, bolstered by a robust, contracted earnings base. Upcoming plans for new pipeline projects and augmentations to existing projects, set to be revealed in November 2024, are expected to drive further revenue increases through 2025–27. Additionally, Guest is exploring opportunities in international markets.
