Edison Releases Report on Invesco Asia Trust Performance

London-based Edison Investment Research Limited has issued a new report on the Invesco Asia Trust (IAT), highlighting key performance metrics and strategic positions. Over the 12 months leading to December 2024, IAT achieved a 12.4% NAV total return. This performance was mainly supported by a stock market uptrend in China and Hong Kong, following governmental stimulus measures announced in September 2024. Despite this positive return, it slightly underperformed the 14.0% benchmark, though its share price total return reached 15.8%, surpassing the benchmark.

IAT remains strategically aligned with the region's consumption growth, investing in sectors like internet, consumer-related businesses, and financial stocks. The managers have cautiously reduced exposure to Taiwan over valuation concerns while increasing investment in Indonesia, citing promising growth opportunities at attractive valuations. The report suggests that IAT's diversified approach continues to support a robust mid-to-long-term market performance.
