EEW Energy from Waste Signs Major IT Outsourcing Deal with DATAGROUP

EEW Energy from Waste GmbH, a leader in waste disposal and energy in Germany, has entered into a significant IT outsourcing agreement with DATAGROUP. This five-year contract, valued at over EUR 5 million annually, will move EEW's IT infrastructure fully into the cloud.

DATAGROUP will manage EEW’s transition from traditional data centers to cloud-based solutions, encompassing private cloud services, logistics, and onsite support for EEW’s more than 1,400 employees. This comprehensive arrangement includes managing applications, network services, and ensuring security and telephony services through Microsoft Teams.

Timo Poppe, CEO of EEW, highlighted the strategic benefits of the shift, emphasizing enhanced security, cost-effectiveness, and agility in adapting to business needs. Meanwhile, Andreas Baresel, CEO of DATAGROUP, pointed to the reliability of long-term contracts for stable revenue streams and underscored their commitment to offering secure and adaptable IT solutions in a dynamic digital environment.

The partnership is expected not only to streamline operations at EEW but also contribute to a reduction in CO2 emissions by leveraging energy-efficient hyperscalers and advanced hardware technologies.
