Energiekontor AG Accelerates Portfolio Expansion in Q1 2024

Energiekontor AG, a prominent German developer and operator of wind and solar parks, has made significant strides in expanding and diversifying its asset portfolio during the first quarter of 2024. The company, based in Bremen and listed in the General Standard, commissioned two wind parks in this period, enhancing its electricity generation capabilities.

The newly commissioned parks include the Jacobsdorf wind park in Brandenburg, contributing significantly to the company's generation income. In total, seven projects with a combined nominal power of about 287 megawatts were under construction or ready to commence as of March 31, 2024. These projects include major developments in Scotland and solar parks in Bavaria and Brandenburg intended for Energiekontor’s own portfolio. Furthermore, projects underway since April will add approximately 35 megawatts.

The progress is underpinned by 28 building permits for projects totaling around 863 megawatts of generation capacity granted as of March 2024, marking an increase from the previous quarter. This number reached nearly one gigawatt of total generation volume with the receipt of building permits in April, including a significant wind park project in Scotland that includes battery storage.

CEO Peter Szabo emphasized the importance of these developments in supporting the company’s growth strategy by utilizing its strong project pipeline.
