Energy Northwest and EVCS Collaborate to Expand EV Charging Along Highway 101
Energy Northwest has partnered with EVCS to install 40 DC Fast chargers across 12 locations along Highway 101 in Washington and Oregon. This project, supported by a $14.6 million grant from the U.S. Department of Transportation, aims to improve EV accessibility in rural areas over a 500-mile span.
The initiative focuses on enhancing EV infrastructure in rural and disadvantaged communities, including Indigenous Tribal lands. The project will facilitate EV adoption and support tourism in areas like Olympic National Park. The charging stations, publicly accessible and compatible with all EV models, will enhance convenience for drivers.
Early stages of the National Environmental Policy Act process are underway, with construction expected by fall 2026. This project aligns with Energy Northwest's commitment to decarbonization, offering cleaner transportation solutions.
