ENGIE has secured Lot 1 in an auction by the Brazilian Electric Energy Agency (ANEEL), earning a concession to implement and operate around 1000 km of transmission lines and 2 substations. The project spans five states in southern Brazil, including Santa Catarina, Paraná, Minas Gerais, São Paulo, and Espírito Santo. The winning bid offered an Annual Allowed Revenue of R$ 252.2 million.

The 30-year contract includes constructing, operating, and maintaining the lines, as well as taking over 162.6 km of existing lines and 2 substations in Espírito Santo and Minas Gerais. This initiative strengthens ENGIE's presence in Brazil, adding to its existing 2,700 km of lines and 10 substations.

ENGIE's portfolio in South America now totals 6,000 km of transmission lines and 39 substations, with 1,000 km under construction. The new concession bolsters ENGIE's position in the energy infrastructure sector and aids in integrating renewable energy sources.

"This contract helps re-balance our regulated positions from gas to electricity," said Cécile Prévieu, ENGIE Executive VP in charge of Networks, emphasizing its importance for energy supply security and renewable energy integration in Brazil.
