HAMBORNER REIT AG Publishes 2023 Sustainability Report

HAMBORNER REIT AG has issued its 2023 Sustainability Report, highlighting ongoing efforts to integrate environmental, social, and governance (ESG) criteria into its operations. The report shows significant strides in reducing energy consumption at both the portfolio and company levels.

In its latest sustainability strategy, the company aims to achieve net-zero greenhouse gas emissions by 2045. Specific targets include a 50% reduction in energy-related emissions by 2030 compared to 2021 levels. This year, energy intensity at the portfolio level decreased by 9%, resulting in a cumulative reduction of 10.8% since 2021.

Despite these improvements, energy-related CO2 emissions increased by 1% in 2023 due to external factors affecting the German electricity mix. The report attributes this rise to higher coal usage following the gas crisis and the ongoing nuclear phase-out.

The company's headquarters also saw a substantial 20.8% reduction in energy consumption compared to 2022, achieving a 49% decrease in energy-related emissions since 2021.
