Health eCareers Releases 2024 Job Seeker Trends in Healthcare Sector

Health eCareers, a leading recruitment platform in North America for healthcare professionals, has published its 2024 Job Seeker Trends Report. This publication, which harvested insights from over 500 survey responses collected in October 2023, aims to guide healthcare recruiters and hiring managers through the current employment landscape. The survey pooled perspectives from a diverse group of healthcare professionals, including physicians, nurses, and physician assistants.

The report underscores the urgency of addressing provider shortages and the rising demand for healthcare services. Blake Aldridge, vice president of marketing at Health eCareers, emphasized the importance of retaining and recruiting skilled staff. Key findings of the report reveal a mixed sense of job satisfaction and an inclination towards job mobility for better compensation and working conditions. Specifically, 64% of respondents are content in their jobs, yet 22% plan to switch employers within a year, citing higher pay and improved work environments as primary factors.

Further insights from the report highlight concerns over compensation fairness, with 40% believing they are underpaid. However, many would consider lower salaries for significant benefits like health insurance, retirement plans, and a better work-life balance. The report also unveils that healthcare job seekers prefer industry-specific job boards and professional networking for job hunting, noting the impact of salary transparency and certain deterrent words in job postings.
