HOPIUM passes bench tests of its 100 kW battery

Paris, July 22, 2024 – The company HOPIUM (FR0014000U63 – ALHPI) announces that it has successfully completed bench tests of its 100 kW battery. These tests revealed better than expected performance for this cell, with a gross power of 105 kW and a weight of less than 30 kg. HOPIUM emphasizes that these results exceed the estimates from their digital twins.

Key features of the battery include 300 cells with a thickness of 0.94 mm and a power density of 8.7 kW/Liter and 6.7 kW/kg. At equal power, it is 30% more compact and 20% lighter than current models on the market. Stéphane Rabatel, CEO of HOPIUM, welcomes these results.

These developments open up prospects for the heavy, maritime and air transport sectors. The compactness and lightness of this battery meet the decarbonization needs of these industries. The marketing of the first batteries is planned for early 2025.
