Implenia Wins Major Tunnelling Project in Norway

Implenia, alongside Stangeland Maskin, secured a significant contract for the E02 Kvitsøy part of the Rogfast project in Norway. The total contract value exceeds CHF 540 million, with Implenia’s share amounting to over CHF 420 million.

The E02 Kvitsøy project involves constructing an 8.8 km two-way tunnel at approximately 230 meters below sea level. The project includes complete interior finishing, technical buildings, ventilation shafts, and road constructions, such as two bridges and a large marine fill for a commercial area.

This new contract adds to the ongoing E03 Boknafjord tunnel project, with the joint venture handling 70% of the overall Rogfast project. Implenia will manage tunneling and finishing, while Stangeland Maskin is responsible for material transportation and groundwork.

The contract is expected to be signed after the objection period on June 7, 2024, with work commencing in late summer and completing in 2030.
