Init innovation in traffic systems SE Secures Major Contract with Transport for London

Transport for London (TfL) has chosen INIT Innovations in Transportation Ltd., a wholly owned UK subsidiary of init innovation in traffic systems SE, to deliver the iBus2 on-bus and back-office services, marking a significant contract win for the tech firm. The partnership aims at overhauling London's bus and tram systems with INIT's state-of-the-art technology, offering TfL an advanced platform to manage franchise operations better and augment passenger safety and service quality.

Under the contract, INIT will supply TfL with more than 8,500 on-board computers and associated devices for buses and trams. The iBus2 service is set to offer an integrated solution encompassing system performance measurements, KPI integration, and a "Strip and Collect" maintenance model designed to streamline first-line services.

The contract, split into three lots, all awarded to INIT Ltd., is valued at approximately GBP 80 million for the initial investment phase, with the potential for similar financial magnitude for the first decade of operations. Furthermore, TfL holds options for additional services, which could include extending the operations period for another ten years.
