Jean-Louis Bouchard Joins Consortium to Acquire Atos
Jean-Louis Bouchard, Chairman and founder of Econocom, has announced his decision to join the consortium aiming to buy out Atos. He supports David Layani's approach, valuing its ambition and deep understanding of Atos and IT services.
By joining, Bouchard seeks to safeguard the mutual interests Econocom and Atos have shared for decades. The relationship dates back over 40 years, spanning numerous collaborations and competitive engagements in the IT and finance sectors.
Historically, Econocom supplied IBM computers when Atos, then SLIGOS, managed credit card services for banks. Today, they collaborate on IT outsourcing and equipment financing.
Bouchard hopes to leverage Econocom's established trust with corporate bankers and funders to benefit the consortium. The company’s prudent management and successful disposal of non-strategic entities have built a profitable business, and Bouchard plans to immediately use this expertise to assist in turning around Atos.
