KAP AG Maintains Solid Performance in Q1 2024 Amidst Challenging Market Conditions
In the first quarter of 2024, KAP AG reported revenue of €83.1 million and normalised EBITDA of €8.5 million. The company's EBITDA margin improved by 0.3 percentage points to 10.2%. The flexible films segment showed strong earnings performance.
KAP AG experienced heterogeneous development across its segments. Revenue in the engineered products segment declined by 25.0% to €27.1 million due to weaker demand from the automotive sector. The flexible films segment saw a revenue decrease of 8.3% but improved its EBITDA margin significantly to 18.0%.
The surface technologies segment also faced challenges, with a 10.3% decline in revenue to €17.0 million, mainly due to decreased demand for surface coatings for car parts. Precision components saw a revenue decrease of 9.8% to €13.6 million, impacted by sluggish e-bike component demand.
KAP AG's Management Board remains cautiously optimistic for the rest of 2024, expecting a moderate increase in revenue and a significant rise in normalised EBITDA.
