Arnaud Lagardère, the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Lagardère SA, has been indicted and is contesting the charges. He also plans to appeal against these charges, which are related exclusively to his personal business activities and do not involve any of the Lagardère group companies.

The specific charges related to Lagardère SA concern allegations from 2018 and 2019 of vote buying, abuse of power, and dissemination of false or misleading information. Arnaud Lagardère has denied all accusations. Due to a provisional ban from holding executive office, Lagardère has been compelled to resign from his executive roles within the group, pending his appeal.

The company’s board of directors is aware of the situation and is preparing to take necessary measures to maintain governance until possibly reinstating Lagardère. They reaffirmed that he is presumed innocent and emphasized that an indictment does not prejudge the outcome of the proceedings.
