Lonza Welcomes New Group Chief Executive Officer Wolfgang Wienand
Basel, Switzerland, 1 July 2024 – Wolfgang Wienand joins Lonza Group today as Chief Executive Officer (CEO). He succeeds Albert M. Baehny, who served as interim CEO since October 2023 and was Chairman of the Board from 2018 to May 2024. Albert will assist Wolfgang during the transition period before retiring.
Jean-Marc Huët, Chairman of the Board of Directors, expressed optimism about Wolfgang’s appointment, citing his extensive experience in the CDMO sector and strategic expertise. Wolfgang himself highlighted Lonza's rapid transformation and growth, expressing eagerness to meet customer needs and drive continued growth.
Wolfgang's previous roles include CEO at Siegfried and key positions at Evonik Industries. His tenure at Lonza is expected to build on its strong foundations and strategic growth.
