Manz AG Files for Insolvency Amid Unmet Market Expectations

Manz AG, a German-based high-tech engineering company, has filed for insolvency at the Stuttgart District Court. On December 20, 2024, attorney Martin Mucha from GRUB BRUGGER was appointed as the preliminary insolvency administrator. The filing follows unfulfilled market expectations in the e-mobility sector, where investments did not result in expected revenues. The company, a leader in lithium-ion batteries and electronic components, had anticipated a higher market demand, particularly in Europe.
The insolvency process will involve examining restructuring options or the possible sale of company segments. Despite financial struggles, Manz AG will continue business operations, with Martin Mucha leading the restructuring efforts. The company employs around 1,200 people globally, with approximately 400 based in Germany. Projected revenues for the fiscal year are between €170 to 180 million.
