MicroGenDX Presents Four Influential Studies at Wound Healing Society 2024

MicroGenDX, in collaboration with Texas Tech University and the Southwest Regional Wound Care Center, will introduce four pivotal studies at the Wound Healing Society meeting in Orlando, happening in May 2024. These studies, funded by the National Institutes of Health, focus on the microbial aspects of chronic wound infections and their treatments.

One of the studies led by Dr. Craig Tipton involves analyzing how local weather conditions affect wound infection profiles and antimicrobial resistance, highlighting the regional variability in wound microbiomes across the United States. Another study by Jake Ancira examines how bacterial abundance correlates with wound healing times, suggesting that microbial profiles play a significant role in treatment outcomes.

Additionally, Rebecca Gabrilska's research explores the genetic predisposition to infections, aiming to develop predictive models of infection risks based on genetic markers. Khalid Omeir investigates the influence of patients’ gene expression on microbial infection in chronic wounds, providing insights into the interaction between human genetics and wound microbiology.
