MIT Solve Awards Over $1 Million to 30 Tech Innovators Addressing Global Challenges

In New York City, during the United Nations General Assembly and Climate Week, MIT Solve awarded over $1 million in funding to 30 innovative tech-based solutions tackling global challenges. Delegates from 13 countries presented solutions targeting issues in health, learning, climate, and economic prosperity, including initiatives benefiting Indigenous Communities in the U.S. and Canada. The winners were chosen from over 2,200 applications representing 130 countries.

This year, MIT Solve distributed $1.3 million, including $10,000 in unrestricted funding to each team. Additionally, each team will join a nine-month support program and may receive further investment from Solve Innovation Future. Hala Hanna, Executive Director of MIT Solve, highlighted the organization’s commitment to early-stage innovators and their transformative impact globally.

The prize funding announced includes awards supported by multiple foundations and corporations, such as Johnson & Johnson Foundation, General Motors, GSR Foundation, Patrick J. McGovern Foundation, among others. Notable recipients include projects like NiADA, Consultation Corral, Oorja, and Easy Housing.
