Moderna and Coursera Launch Free Course on mRNA Technology

Moderna, Inc. (NASDAQ:MRNA) and Coursera (NYSE:COUR) have announced a collaborative effort to introduce "mRNAs as Medicines," a comprehensive three-module course focusing on mRNA medicines. Designed by Moderna's experts, the course delves into the workings and potential applications of mRNA technology and is available for free to Coursera learners.

Tracey Franklin, Moderna’s Chief Human Resources Officer, emphasized the transformative power of accessible education, highlighting the partnership’s aim to deepen understanding of mRNA science. Coursera’s Chief Content Officer, Marni Baker-Stein, echoed the sentiment, stressing the global demand for STEM skills.

The course covers the structure and roles of proteins and mRNAs. Learners will explore conventional small molecule medicines and new advancements enabling the use of mRNA for therapies and treatments, including vaccines and regenerative medicine. This endeavor aligns with the projected need for 3.5 million STEM jobs in the U.S. by 2025.

The partnership underscores both companies' dedication to advancing scientific education and broadening access to critical knowledge, potentially narrowing the workforce readiness gap.
