Molten Ventures Acquires Majority Stake in Connect Ventures' First Fund

Molten Ventures plc, a venture capital firm, announced the acquisition of a secondary position in Connect Ventures' First Fund. Molten now holds approximately 97% of the fund for an investment of around £18.6 million. This 2012 vintage fund consists of eight minority stakes in European businesses, primarily dominated by Typeform and Soldo.

The acquisition aligns with Molten's strategy to access attractive secondary investments without needing additional funding for the underlying portfolio. Molten's prior acquisitions include positions in Seedcamp and Earlybird funds, with a strategy focused on liquidity and high-quality assets.

CEO Martin Davis emphasized the acquisition as a testament to Molten's robust network, enhancing Molten’s ability to capitalize on current market opportunities.
