Orange and Eutelsat Partner to Expand Satellite Internet in Africa and Middle East
Orange Africa and Middle East (OMEA) and Eutelsat have announced a strategic collaboration to enhance satellite connectivity in Africa and the Middle East. This partnership aims to provide broadband access, initially targeting areas in Jordan, Côte d'Ivoire, Senegal, and the Democratic Republic of Congo.
Utilizing EUTELSAT's KONNECT satellite, the alliance will leverage advanced broadband technologies. The initiative combines Orange's telecommunications expertise and Eutelsat's satellite innovation to offer services for both private and business users.
The partnership aims to deliver high-performance connectivity, particularly in rural regions, by providing secure services compliant with national regulations. Speeds of up to 100 Mbps are anticipated, bolstering efforts to bridge the digital divide.
Orange, serving over 160 million regional customers, and Eutelsat emphasize their commitment to sustainable and inclusive digital access.
