Patriot Software, LLC, a provider of cloud-based accounting and payroll solutions, has announced the launch of a new 1099 contractor portal. This platform is designed to bolster collaboration and streamline administrative tasks between clients and their independent contractors. The service introduces a secure, self-service environment where 1099 contractors can manage their personal details, view payment histories, and update direct deposit information.

Amie Scarpitti, Product Manager at Patriot Software, emphasized the utility of the new feature, noting its development was in direct response to customer needs. The 1099 contractor portal aims to provide transparency and facilitate ease of access to crucial data for contractors, enhancing overall workflow efficiency.

This addition is timely, as the number of independent workers in the U.S. has grown substantially, reaching over 36 million in the previous year. The new contractor portal, which allows clients to easily onboard their independent contractors, integrates robust multi-factor authentication protocols to secure sensitive personal and banking data.

Looking ahead, Patriot plans to further augment the portal’s functionality, including features allowing clients to upload tax form 1099s directly to the contractors' portal, streamlining tax filing processes for the upcoming season. The company also offers comprehensive demonstrations of their software and a 30-day free trial for new accounts to enhance user accessibility and experience.
