Perfumery Code of Ethics Enhances Access to Fragrance Information

A new initiative by the Perfumery Code of Ethics pledgers aims to offer broader and less filtered information for journalists, writers, and academics. This effort responds to the longstanding secrecy in the fragrance industry.

Requests for information or interviews can be sent to info@perfumeryethics.org. Priority will be given to professionals, as the initiative cannot cater to perfume fans and the general public.

Upon receiving a request, a pledger will address it personally or forward it to other specialists. Links to published or unpublished data may also be provided for verification purposes.

Gaining access to ethical and reliable information in the perfume industry has been challenging due to non-disclosure agreements and significant advertising influence from large brands. Retired perfumers and academic programs have not filled this gap adequately.
