Qianjiangyuan: China's Innovative Approach to Ecological Protection

Quzhou, China - As China marks its second National Ecology Day, various educational activities aim to raise ecological protection awareness across the nation. Zhejiang Province, home to the Qiantang River and the Qianjiangyuan National Park in Kaihua County, has been spotlighted for its innovative conservation efforts.

Qianjiangyuan is renowned for its vast subtropical evergreen broad-leaved forests, supporting over 2,200 higher plant species, 440 large fungi species, and 2,400 animal species. It's often called "China's Amazon rainforest." The park administration leverages digital technology, including drones, for efficient monitoring and conservation.

Innovative reforms in forestland and land contracting rights have promoted ecological compensation and community co-management. Local residents actively participate in conservation efforts, supporting researchers in field investigations and data collection.
