SMG Sportplatzmaschinenbau GmbH teams up with Gimv to Accelerate Global Expansion

SMG Sportplatzmaschinenbau GmbH, based in Vöhringen, Bavaria, has partnered with Gimv to further its global growth. Founded in 1975, SMG is renowned for developing advanced machines for the sports industry, used by elite teams like Real Madrid and FC Bayern Munich. The collaboration aims to boost SMG's international expansion, particularly in the USA, its largest market.

SMG's product line includes specialized machines for synthetic sports surfaces and artificial turf. The company, which develops and manufactures all its products in Germany, boasts over 1,200 global clients and employs 55 people. The extensive network of independent sales partners supports SMG's market reach.

Daniel and Tobias Owegeser, co-owners of SMG, expressed confidence in the partnership with Gimv. They believe it will support their expansion goals. Ronald Bartel from Gimv praised SMG's technical and industrial capabilities, highlighting readiness for international growth.
