Softdocs Introduces New AI Features for Education and Government Sector Document Management

Softdocs, a leading provider of process automation and document management solutions, has announced the launch of its new AI-powered automatic document classification and data extraction features aimed at the education and government sectors. By leveraging artificial intelligence, Softdocs promises to streamline highly complex workflows, notably by capturing and processing email attachments for higher education institutions, K-12 school districts, and state and local governments.

This innovative feature is designed to integrate seamlessly with users' email applications, allowing for the automatic classification and extraction of data from attachments. It facilitates the secure routing, processing, and actioning of documents across a range of organizational structures including university systems, campuses, school districts, and government agencies. The EDUCAUSE AI Landscape Study highlights that over 75% of higher education leaders prioritize AI to enhance student services, underlining the significance of this new development.

Scott Craig, SVP of Product and Strategy at Softdocs, emphasized the practical value of AI in automating routine tasks and advancing workflows without ethical dilemmas. According to a study by Ellucian, more than 70% of higher education administrators view AI positively. Presently integrated with Microsoft Outlook, plans are in place to expand this capability to other platforms like Google, Slack, and Microsoft productivity tools. Softdocs will be providing demonstrations of this feature at Ellucian Live 2024 in San Antonio.
