Solitario Commences Drilling on its Golden Crest Gold Project
DENVER, CO / ACCESSWIRE / July 15, 2024 / Solitario Resources Corp. (NYSE American:XPL)(TSX:SLR) has initiated core drilling on its 100%-owned Golden Crest gold project in South Dakota. Phase-One of the 2024 drilling program includes drilling 10-12 holes totaling 5,000 meters. The first targeted area is the Downpour Zone, with notable high-grade gold results from trenching and surface rock sampling.
Highlights from the trenching program include:
Trench 1: 36 meters averaging 17.60 grams/tonne
Trench 2: 60 meters at 8.55 grams/tonne
Trench 5: 15.6 meters at 17.1 grams/tonne
Surface grab sampling across an 800-meter by 500-meter corridor yielded significant gold values, with seven samples above 10 g/t gold and 16 samples over 3 g/t gold. Chris Herald, CEO of Solitario, expressed enthusiasm about this new exploration phase and its proximity to the historic Homestake-Wharf mining district.
The samples were analyzed by ALS Laboratories using standard fire assay methods, with QA/QC procedures in place. The project underscores Solitario's commitment to responsible exploration practices.
