Stillwater Critical Minerals Discovers New Sulphide Mineralization in Montana
Stillwater Critical Minerals Corp. has reported new drill results from its Stillwater West project in Montana. The 2023 drilling campaign, funded by Glencore, included six holes expanding deposits in the 9-kilometer-long resource area.
Key highlights include successful interceptions of magmatic nickel and copper sulphide mineralization, identified by electromagnetic (EM) anomalies over a 12-kilometer strike. Notable drill holes CM2023-04, -05, and -06 revealed significant findings, such as 98.8 meters at 0.27% recovered Nickel Equivalent (NiEq) in CM2023-04 and 293.8 meters at 0.22% NiEq in CM2023-05.
The results suggest potential for expanding the Mineral Resource Estimate (MRE) across three cut-off grades, demonstrating the project's capacity for bulk tonnage and higher-grade mineralization. Final assays for holes CM2023-01, -02, -03, along with rhodium assays, are still pending.
According to CEO Michael Rowley, these findings validate the project's potential as a large-scale source of critical minerals, with the first-ever geological model showing three mineralization styles. Future drilling will focus on these discoveries to further develop the resource.
