The Platform Group AG Acquires Bicycle Parts Platform
Düsseldorf, 11 July 2024. The Platform Group AG (ISIN DE000A2QEFA1), a leading software company for platform solutions, has acquired a majority stake in Jungherz GmbH. Jungherz operates the Radzentrum Nagold (a stationary bicycle center) and the Fahrradteile-Shop (an online shop for bicycle parts). It is also a licensed partner for brands like Centurion, Haibike, Ghost, and Scott.
Falko Borkhart, Managing Director of Jungherz GmbH, expressed optimism about future growth with TPG and the potential to better serve the accessories segment together with TPG’s portfolio company Bike-Angebot.
Post-transaction, TPG will own 90% of Jungherz GmbH, which employs 30 people at its Nagold site. Dr. Dominik Benner, CEO of The Platform Group AG, emphasized that the acquisition strengthens their Freight Goods segment and offers strategic expansion opportunities despite the bicycle market crisis.
The transaction is set to close by the end of July 2024, with the purchase price remaining undisclosed.
