Valora Combines Fresh Food with Convenience in New "The Kitchen" Concept

Muttenz – Consumer demand for fresh food on the go has surged in recent years. Reflecting this trend, Valora is introducing its first avec store with an integrated "The Kitchen" concept near the University of Zurich at Freiestrasse 14, opening on 31 May. Fresh to-go meals will be prepared in an open kitchen from Monday to Saturday. On Sundays, the store operates without staff, with customers using the avec app for access, shopping, and payment. Notably, this is the first avec store located in a residential area. Valora plans to open seven more stores with the new concept by year's end.

Valora CEO Retail, Roger Vogt, highlights the aim to provide warm, fresh meals daily. The menu includes pizza, burgers, and a broad vegan range such as veggie hot dogs and couscous. Additionally, six new sandwich variations will join the freshly prepared options.

Operating hours for the Freiestrasse store are 6:00 am to 8:00 pm daily. This initiative is part of Valora’s expanding "foodvenience" strategy, aiming to meet the growing demand for quick, fresh food. Future expansions will see more avec stores featuring "The Kitchen" concept at larger locations across Switzerland.
