VTTI and Pyrum Innovate with Antwerp Recycling Plant

VTTI and Pyrum Innovations AG have forged a partnership to establish a waste tyre recycling plant at VTTI's Antwerp Terminal. The facility, capable of processing up to 90,000 tonnes of End-of-Life Tyres annually, will utilize Pyrum's advanced thermolysis technology. This collaboration supports VTTI's strategic expansion into sustainable energy solutions.

The project is aligned with the European Union's Green Deal, contributing to its 2050 climate neutrality target. By transforming waste tyres into valuable by-products like Tyre Pyrolysis Oil and Recovered Carbon Black, the plant aims to bolster the circular economy.

This initiative marks a key milestone for both companies. VTTI plans to expand similar projects globally, fostering sustainable industrial development and economic growth. The new plant reinforces VTTI's position as a leader in sustainable energy infrastructure.
