Eiffage wins in consortium the construction contract  for the Realex project in Brussels, Belgium

 

Eiffage, through Valens (a subsidiary of Eiffage Construction in Belgium), won in a consortium with BPC Group the contract awarded by Leaselex – a subsidiary of the Belgian real estate group Atenor – for the construction of the Realex project in the European Quarter of Brussels. 

The contract includes a complex made of the future 26,000 m² European Commission conference centre and independent office spaces for just under 18,000 m² as well as retail areas and approximately 225 underground parking spaces. 

The Realex project has been designed for exceptional environmental performance. Targeting BREEAM certification at “Outstanding (Design Stage)” level, it will meet the most demanding standards in terms of sustainability and energy efficiency. It will incorporate features such as heat recovery, dual-flow ventilation, LED lighting as well as planted roof spaces amongst others… 

This new project is an opportunity for the Eiffage group to showcase its experience in lowcarbon construction and aligns perfectly with the European Union’s CO₂ emissions reduction objectives. 

Construction work is now under way, managed by teams from the Valens/BPC joint venture company.
