GL EVENTS SELECTED TO INSTALL TEMPORARY INFRASTRUCTURES FOR THE UPCOMING COP17 TO COMBAT DESERTIFICATION

GL EVENTS (FR0000066672, GLO), THE INTEGRATED GROUP SPECIALIZED IN EVENT INDUSTRY SERVICES, ANNOUNCES TODAY THAT IT HAS BEEN SELECTED BY THE MUNICIPALITY OF ULAANBAATAR TO PROVIDE THE TEMPORARY INFRASTRUCTURES FOR COP17 TO COMBAT DESERTIFICATION, WHICH WILL TAKE PLACE IN MONGOLIA IN AUGUST 2026.

Mongolia will host, from 17 to 28 August, the 17th Conference of the Parties (COP17) to the United Nations Convention to Combat Desertification (UNCCD). The event is expected to bring together nearly 10,000 delegates from more than 190 countries, under the slogan: “Restore Nature, Revive Hope.”

To organize this conference, the capital city of Ulaanbaatar plans to install temporary structures on the outskirts of the city. As part of an international tender and following a three-stage selection process, the Mongolian authorities chose the GL events Group to install around 44,500 sqm of temporary structures to accommodate the 197 invited countries. GL events received the official award letter this Wednesday, 11 February 2026, from the competent authorities.

The Group has extensive experience, having already participated in 11 COP conferences between 2011 and 2024, including the most recent COP16 held in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
