«As sustainability impacts nearly every area of the company, this prize truly recognises our entire Sunrise team – we’re delighted to receive it. The award is based on a targeted strategy, focused initiatives, measurable results and the determination to achieve great things in sustainability. This platinum medal motivates us to keep moving forward on this path and to make significant contributions to sustainability,» says a delighted André Krause, CEO Sunrise. «Sunrise is due to publish its first comprehensive sustainability report very soon. It will give even more transparency, firstly by showing our past progress and secondly by highlighting our ambitious goals for the near future.»
Sunrise sees sustainability as an integral part of its corporate strategy and daily business activities. Its sustainability strategy, Sunrise IMPACTS, is based on the pillars of People, Planet and Progress, with Governance as its foundation. Achievements to date include a successful volunteering programme, significant improvements in resource efficiency, a sustainable approach to product packaging, a strong commitment to digital inclusion and social responsibility, and a continuing ISO 27001 certification over the past decade. Sunrise continues to strive for a sustainable future by integrating sustainability into corporate goals and total compensation, as well as setting goals such as high employee engagement, significant emissions reduction, and seamless customer service through digitisation.
EcoVadis is the global standard for corporate-sustainability assessments. A total of 21 sustainability criteria in four core areas are evaluated: environment, labour and human rights, ethics and sustainable procurement. More than 125,000 companies around the world have already been assessed by EcoVadis.
EcoVadis’s sustainability assessments for companies are based on international sustainability standards such as the Ten Principles of the UN Global Compact, the conventions of the International Labour Organization (ILO), the standards of the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) and the ISO 26000 standard. The assessments provide an in-depth analysis of performance and an achievable roadmap for continuous improvement.
