French National Handball League chooses VOGO  to referee the French men’s championship

(“Liqui Moly Starligue”)

VOGO (ISIN: FR0011532225 - ALVGO) announces that it has been chosen by the French National Handball League (LNH) to deploy its audio and video refereeing solutions for the next four seasons of the French men’s championship.

The board of directors of the French National Handball League (LNH) has decided to introduce video refereeing from the 2024/2025 season in the Liqui Moly Starligue (Men’s 1st Division Handball) for the next four seasons.

Driven by the desire to make the game easier to understand and refereeing decisions more respected, but also guided by the need to improve the spectator and TV viewing experience, the National Handball League has chosen the solution proposed by VOGO.

The National Handball League (LNH), in cooperation with the National Refereeing Commission (CNA) of the French Handball Federation (FFHB), has adopted the same technical system as the one used in the handball Champions League.

In addition to enabling referees to instantly review game situations, the innovative system adopted by the National Handball League (LNH) will feature:

• Live video and sound signals from the referees to the competition broadcasters;

• A video platform giving coaches more angles to work with after matches;

• An application for spectators in the live audience to review the action of the match they are watching.

David Tebib, President of the French National Handball League, said: “The ambitious project we are going to roll out goes beyond traditional video refereeing. Proximity and links with our audiences are part of our DNA. They should inspire us to adopt an approach that’s very important to us: helping players, coaches and managers to accept better refereeing decisions through verification of a phase of the game, while at the same time considering our audiences, introducing some of them to the game and providing others with more information.”

Christophe Carniel, co-founder and Chairman and CEO of VOGO, added: “After being chosen by the European Handball Federation (EHF) for all European handball competitions (Women’s and Men’s Champions Leagues and Euro), we are proud to have been selected by the French National Handball League to demonstrate the versatility of our video and audio solutions in refereeing, performance enhancement and fan experience.”
